The Gift

As the sun begins to turn orange; dusk steadily approaching, I see myself standing besides my late grandmother. I see the harsh rays fall on her soft skin, her hands gently holding mine. She opens up my hand and places a string of green and white beads. They look really old, worn out, like they belonged to some kind of predecessor. Tears begin to kiss my cheeks, my heart is filled with love, my spirit is overjoyed. "Kealeboga Mma!" I exclaim. It feels like I've been blessed with something my heart has been yearning for, unknowingly so... I wake up. Whenever I dream, one of the first things I do upon waking up is be still and try to bring awareness to Being. For the first time (in a long time) I feel at ease, peaceful and hopeful.

Now I must be honest, I've been told by many spiritual practitioners that I am "gifted" but my initial reaction is always... "We all are". As human beings, we all have an inner purpose to manifest Heaven here on earth. We do so through our gifts, talents, skills, basically whatever comes naturally to us. I see a gift as some sort of cheat code in the process of manifestation. Apostle Paul reiterates this in 1 Corinthians 12 v4-7 where he speaks about the "'special abilities" the Holy Spirit gives us. "Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service in the church, but it is the same Lord we are serving. There are different ways God works in our lives, but is the same God who does the work through all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church".

The Holy Spirit le Badimo bestow different spiritual gifts upon us. Apostle Paul further breaks down these gifts into: special faith, prophecy, teaching, healing, discerning, interceding, dreaming, interpreting of dreams, speaking and/or interpreting tongues, helping others as well as the ability to get people to work together. Today, there is a notable rise in gifted people, especially the youth, in the form of prophets, apostles, izangoma, izithunywa, di ngaka, mediums etc. We all form part of the collective consciousness, where the divinity in one honours the divinity in another. Through stillness, we are able to bring awareness to the intrinsic oneness of everything that exists. This is what Eckart Tolle describes as a "new earth"... will you take part in the awakening?
