"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?" Isaiah 43:18-19. "The Lord your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of you hand, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your cattle and in the fruit of your ground. For the Lord will again take delight in prospering you, as he took delight in your fathers," Deuteronomy 30:9.
Happy New Year ! It's officially the beginning of a new cycle, a new season, a new dawn. Our new year is marked on our African calendar known as Inzalo Ye Langa. Inzalo Ye Langa means the birth of the sun and is a solar calendar reflected in ancient monolithic stones situated on a plateau in the rising of the sun, Mpumalanga. It has been proven to be the first depiction of time dating back over 80 000 years. It is made up of dolomite rock formations depicting the number twelve; 12 hours in a day, 12 hours in a night and 12 months of the year. Time is calculated by the shadows the stones cast on the ground indicating month and season. It marks the cardinal points i.e. spring equinox, summer solstice, autumn equinox and winter solstice that reflect the changing of a season. Along with time markers are spiritual principles umoya that govern the energy that spreads throughout the land. Thus, it is a confluence of astrology and nature creating intra and inter alignment with self and all. Spring spreads across 3 months with the first day of year being the 23rd of September:
23rd September - 23rd October is known as uMandulo
Time of renewal
Deity - uMvuseleli
Kemetic principle - Asar
23rd October - 23rd November is known as uMfumfu
Time of bloom
Deity - uMvundisikazi
Kemetic principle - Het-Her
23rd November - 23rd December is known as uLwezi
Time for the seed to develop deep roots - grounding and sustenance
Deity - uMlobikazi
Kemetic principle - Djehuti

According to Inzalo Ye Langa, after the Sun is rebirthed during the Winter Solstice, the phenomenon where it breathes life back to Earth and renews us is known as the Spring Equinox. 'Equinox' is derived from the latin words aequi translated as equal and nox which means night thus "equal night". During this time, the sun and earth are on the same axis causing a 12 hour difference between sunrise and sunset thus equal day and night across the world. The spring equinox occurs between the 21st of September and the 23rd of September every year. It takes more than 2 days for the sun to transverse the celestial equator line at a 0° axis and on the 3rd day at a certain hour (8:49 in 2023) the Earth's axis tilts to 1° marking the dawn of a new cycle. Science elucidates it as a point in the sky where the ecliptic and celestial equator intersect; the sun injecting copious hydrogen into the earth's atmosphere. Spiritually, it symbolizes a balance in the cosmogenesis, where the feminine (moon) and masculine (sun) energies are in equilibrium. Thus creating a sphere where seed is sown into fertile ground and fruit is reaped in abundance.
In Kemet, the establishment of astrology is mirrored by the Dendera Zodiac which is founded on the principles of Inzalo Ye Langa mapping out the 3 stars in the Orion belt. The source of life is from the Sun and its cycle begins with Asar. Asar is a green masculine energy that governs the world of creation and physical manifestation. "This is the Solar passage through the constellations along the ecliptical belt of the sky throughout the tropical year, beginning at the spring equinox, when night and day are equal in length, and symbolically, when body and soul are in balance between the visible and invisible worlds. In ancient times this period coincided with the return of the constellation Orion in the night sky, a harbinger of the powers of Asar becoming renewed," [The Sacred Magic of Ancient Egypt]. Asar is the bringer of renewal and the vital power for the season of rejuvenation. As the sun moves, the fertile soil is filled with the vitality of the rising life force in the Earth while the rhythms of nature ascend in newly sprung life. The goddess Het-Her presides over the event of nature's initial proliferation at the return of the growing season, and she brings together the elemental forces that conceive life [The Sacred Magic of Ancient Egypt]. Therefore the masculine green energy of Asar converges with the feminine womb of Het-Her, so that the fruit is birthed in abundance and new life is released. The sun then creates a passage where the networks of physical and psychic life join together through the natural magic of sound alchemy. "Djehuti
transmits the pattern of growth through symbol and language, which allow innate intelligence to come forth and spiritual senses to awaken," [The Sacred Magic of Ancient Egypt]. Life is then sustained through tapping into the universal consciousness allowing wisdom to create deeper and wider roots.
It is a new chapter in the book of your life; God grants us another chance to erase the old and write the new. Our eyes look to the Heavens for inspiration. The word "inspiration" is derived from the Latin word "inspiratus" which essentially means “breathe into". Therefore we look to God to breathe new life into us. Spring is a season of conception, growth and abundance. It is a time of divine creativity and manifestation; what you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and what is loose in heaven will be loosened on earth. I am a firm believer in working smart not hard and this means aligning yourself with the rhythm of nature in an effort to reach your full potential. Being transparent enough for the light of consciousness to flow through you and universal intelligence to conceive a new idea in your heart. Knowing when to develop that idea and when to implement it is of the utmost importance because timing is everything. I think its tedious and strenuous to try birth a new concept during the winter solstice, a season of inertia and hibernation. I enjoy ease; minimum effort and maximum impact. So use the power and authority vested in your tongue; speak life. speak light. Write the vision and make it plain so that those who see it may run. And move. Move with the flow of life. You have a new business idea? Go for it ! Want to change careers ? Do it! Want to buy a house ? The repo rate won't stop you! Cause even if you fail, you fail forward... and forward... and forward...until one day you stop failing.
