Words heal

My love for reading and writing began at a time when I would see the unimaginable whenever I closed my eyes. Through my dreams I would be privy to past traumas and present pains within my life and on rare occasions, the lives of my loved ones. In an effort to make sense of the images, emotions and sensations I perceived, I began to seek clarity from a range of spiritual teachings, religious doctrines as well as inner consciousness i.e. meditation. A deep rooted awareness began to come forth when I opened the pages of my bible; every chapter I read reflected every experience in my life. An epiphany of God's word being the lamp to my feet and the light to my path emerged. The word "light" means knowledge in Hebrew therefore through this light, I would gain knowledge, wisdom and understanding. By anchoring myself to the word, I began to heal my spiritual wounds, emotional scars and calmed the storm that was the thoughts in my head.

The bible's principle of the power of the tongue bringing life and causing death is reiterated by Masaru Emoto. Mr Emoto was a Japanese pseudo-scientist who proved that human consciousness could affect the molecular structure of water. His theory was that positive words/music created identifiable water crystals whereas negative words/music yielded disruptive molecular formations when frozen. Our bodies and brains are made up of 70% and 80% water respectively. Thus, the soundwaves our words create can either encourage or disrupt the flow of energy in one's body. That's why Jesus said "The words I speak to you are spirit and they are life" John 6v63. God's word is the truth, the way and the life. When God created the earth the first words spoken were "Let there be light...". [S]He addressed the darkness by intentionally speaking to the light.

In Matthews 21v30-34 two blind men were sitting beside the road. When they heard that Jesus was coming, they began shouting, "Lord, son of David, have mercy on us!" Jesus stopped in the road and called "What do you want me to do for you?". "Lord we want to see" the men replied. Jesus felt sorry for them and touched their eyes. Jesus knew that they seeked healing yet he still asked. He understood that power and authority lies in the tongue and he needed the two men to state their faith. We all have something to heal, from our inner child to traumas and inner conflict. Healing allows us to acknowledge, release and let go and step into the fullness that God has called us to be. Healing within me took place through the words I read, my faith-filled utterances and my expressions of ink on paper. I stated my faith, will you ?
